Esther Juon - New Zealand

Founder of Juon Pointe and Team Leader of the Pointe Shoe Summit, Esther is a former professional dancer and ballet teacher. She developed the Juon Pointe System over 40 years ago, creating a globally used pointe shoe fitting method, mentoring program, and pre-pointe assessment criteria, each delivering consistently strong results for dancers worldwide.

Her mission is to unite, through collaboration and genuine enthusiasm, dance educators, pointe shoe fitters, and dance health professionals, all working together to best support the dancer.

Georgina Barr - New Zealand

Georgina is the founder of Barrina, a dance health consultancy business where she provides Pre Pointe Assessments, Custom Pointe Shoe Education, and Biomechanical Consultancy and Assessments.

Georgina also presents original research at dance and medical conferences. She is the first person ever to receive the Juon Pointe Gold Standard award. Georgina also works part time as a podiatrist. 

Rhea Lwin - USA

Rhea Lwin, president and founder of On Pointe Dancewear in Bellevue, Washington, is a certified pointe shoe fitter recognized for her expertise across major brands and as part of the Juon Pointe team. With a background in multiple dance styles and a marketing degree from Santa Clara University, she combines artistic and business insight. 

Her deep knowledge of pointe shoe construction and fitting has made her a trusted resource throughout the Pacific Northwest, where she continues to promote education and innovation in dancer support.

Michelle Deschamps - Mexico

Michelle Deschamps is the founder of Royal Ballet, a center dedicated to classical ballet. Her focus is employing proper technique, emphasizing effortless movement principles, preventing injuries, and promoting muscle longevity.

She holds a certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance and is a Registered Teacher with the RAD. Her qualifications also include studies in Progressing Ballet Technique and the Juon Pointe System. Also, she has been promoting Cultural and artistic events in her hometown for over 25 years.

Lily Ewing - New Zealand

Founder of FORME, Lily is a former professional ballet dancer and pointe development coach. She trained at the New Zealand School of Dance, with secondments at Houston Ballet School and Canada’s National Ballet School, and invitations to Queensland Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, the School of American Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet School.

After being accepted into Houston Ballet’s Professional Program, Lily returned home to New Zealand and shifted her focus to teaching, specialising in competition coaching, RAD, open classes, repertoire, contemporary dance, and Progressing Ballet Technique.

Certified in pre-pointe assessments and pointe shoe fitting under the Juon Pointe System, she is dedicated to helping dancers build strength, technique, and longevity in their training.

Camila Uribe - Colombia

Marketing professional, entrepreneur and Pointe Shoe Fitter. Co-founder Arabesque in 2015 and leader of the company to the present day. Simultaneously, she serves as the Pointe Shoe Fitter at Arabesque, trained in various countries by the world’s top pointe shoe brands. Certified in the Juon System.

Erin Madsen - Canada

Erin Madsen is the founder of Madsen Arts Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, dedicated to providing quality ballet education that builds stronger, safer dancers through conditioning, dance science, and sound training. Her mission is to reduce injuries and help every student reach their full potential, making top-level training accessible to all. 

Recently, she completed the Mentoring and Pre-Pointe Risk Assessment programs with Juon Pointe, gaining valuable tools to enhance her teaching and promote safer dance practices. The Juon Pointe System now plays a key role in her vision to elevate ballet education at Madsen Arts Center.

Debra Crookshanks - Australia

Debra is a physiotherapist specializing in dance who founded The Dancers Clinic. She combines clinical practice with education, focusing on helping young dancers prevent injuries through knowledge and assessments such as Pre-pointe and Postural Assessments. She has worked with dancers of all levels and is actively involved in professional education: creating courses, presenting research at international conferences, developing university programs, and training physiotherapists in the management of young dancers. She is also a co-author of a chapter on general principles in injury care in the book Dance Injuries: Reducing Risk and Maximizing Performance (2025).
